Simple Tea
You get a tea bag. You put it in water, it turns brown. You put milk in it, maybe some sugar.
Sitting on the edge of Mayfair, sketch's residence at 9 Conduit Street was once home to the headquarters of The Royal Institute of British Architects, before becoming the London Atelier of Christian Dior.
The Dior theme has carried through to sketch today as the staff sports chic 'Dior grey' dresses and jumpsuits designed by British designer Richard Nicoll. Afternoon Tea is served in The Gallery, a beautiful room with dusky pink, velvet interiors and rose gold detailing, and a wonderful colour combination when matched with the staff's grey uniforms. sketch was inaugurated in 2002 by restaurateur Mourad Mazouz and Michelin starred chef Pierre Gagnaire with the intention of creating a thriving venue for food, music and art. The theme continues successfully to this day and is admirable in its mission to challenge our ways of thinking about familiar dishes.
